Wants nothing more than to get a brain, which he's convinced he lacks. despite this, he is plucky and clever in a pinch. Singing & dancing required.

Hickory/Tin Man: Desperate for a heart, The Tin man joins Dorothy's journey to see the Wizard. Exceedingly charming, and thoughtful. A kind-hearted romantic. Singing and some dance required.

Zeke/ Cowardly Lion: Full of Bravado, despite being convinced he's a craven coward. Nonetheless, a true-blue friend, who proves himself when push comes to shove. Should Move well. Some singing and  good comedic skills required.

Almira Gulch/ Wicked Witch of the West:  Vengeful, nasty, and full of ire. Hungry for power and influence. Will do anything to get what she wants (and that goes for both characters). Non-singing.

Professor Marvel/Wizard:  Accidental ruler of the land of OZ,  who happens to be an ordinary man from Kansas, and a former circus magician. Verbose, articulate and prone to oration. Charming, and kind-hearted, despite being something of a professional charlatan. Non-Singing.

Glinda, The Good Witch Of The North: Described as beautiful. Benevolent, and beloved. Strong singing required.

Munchkins:
The little people of Munchkinland. Long oppressed, and happy to be freed by Dorothy, the Munchkins will be played (at lest mostly) by children. Group singing, and coordinated movement required. Dance experience a plus. There are some featured roles among the munchkins, such as The Mayor Of Munchkin City, The Coroner, The Lollipop Guild, and The Lullaby league.  Additionally Some Munchkins will double as..

Flying Monkeys:
Minions of the Wicked Witch of the West. The monkeys do not speak or sing, but will most likely be double-cast as Munchkins. Nonetheless, non-singers will be considered.

Citizens of Oz:
The Citizens of Oz are the adult chorus of the show. Singing and movement required. Some Ozians will also be featured dancers, and some will likely double as The Winkies (Palace guard to the Wicked Witch of the West).

Toto: Anyone have a well-behaved, house-broken small dog, who wants some stage time with an award winning theatre group?

General Note: We are not looking for actors to impersonate or re-create the great performances from the film version of The Wizard of Oz. However, we are looking for actors who can approximate the energy, comedic panache, and breadth of character seen in this and other films of it's era, and on the contemporary stage of the time. Vaudeville, & screwball comedy are excellent reference points for the style of performance we will be looking for.
